Description
Performance-orientated cruiser, with a length overall midway between the legendary 26 and 32, the Contessa 28 fits the vacant niche in more ways than one. Unsurprisingly more roomy than her smaller sister, the available accommodation more closely matches that of the 32. She was designed as a cruising yacht, but one that would be fast for her length and a pleasure to sail. This example has had only two owners from new. She appears to have been used regularly, but looked after. She lacks the latest electronic navigation equipment, but that goes out of date very quickly in any case. More importantly, her hull and interior looks good and the original engine was replaced in 2003 with a fresh-water-cooled 13HP Lombardini diesel engine that started from cold on the button and ran sweetly when I visited.
